Our in-house quoting app. Enter a kitchen or a wardrobe column by column; JIMM builds every part, nests the sheets and prices the job.
what it is.
Quick Quote is how we price joinery. A kitchen wall, a wardrobe, a TV unit, a desk: we enter it column by column in the browser, and it comes back drawn, built, nested onto sheets and priced. A kitchen takes minutes, and it’s priced the same way every time.
It’s one way into JIMM, our joinery engine. Quick Quote doesn’t keep its own rules. It reads the same engine our Grasshopper plugin uses in the workshop, so the parts we quote are the parts we cut.
where we use it.
Every day, on our own quoting. Kitchens, wardrobes, panelling, TV units and desks are priced in it, and it went live for the whole team in October 2026.
Real quotes keep it honest. A set of real past quotes, anonymised, lives inside its tests, and every change to the engine has to price them exactly as before, to the cent.
what it doesn’t do.
- It doesn’t cut. Quick Quote is quote-grade: the right panels and fitting counts, but no drilling, labels or machine files. Production stays in Grasshopper.
- Not every family is final. Kitchen and shelving follow agreed rules; the rest are marked beta until we’ve confirmed their rules with the workshop.
- Some parts are estimates. Drawer boxes are estimated for now, and a fitting that isn’t in our library yet prices at nothing and says so.
- It never decides on its own. Problems show up as warnings, and a person reads them before anything goes out.
- It isn’t for clients yet, and it’s a desktop tool.
what’s next.
- Confirming the beta families with the workshop, then moving each one into the Grasshopper plugin so the workshop can build it too.
- Labour worked out from what’s built — time per sheet, per metre of edging, per door — instead of typed hours.
- Later, more ways into the same engine.
