A reception desk for The Quad, Q3 in Mrieħel: hammered copper panels patinated in the workshop, a black marble top, and a lower counter so everyone is served at the right height.

the project
DeMicoli & Associates designed the building and drew a desk in hammered copper, to match the columns. We made it, and took the copper a step further: every panel was patinated in the workshop, in a fume chamber, so the blues, greens and raw copper were chosen rather than left to the weather.
The top and border are dark marble, with an LED strip, drawers, card cupboards and cable trunking you can lift out. Partway through, the permit called for a desk on two levels, so we added a lower, accessible counter. A matching chest of drawers, about two metres long, went in behind. 2021.
